October is nearly arrived in Dallas, yet the air still resembles that of the warm suffocating air of summer. We are envious that back home in the northeast the leaves are beginning to change and transform into a vibrant collage of colors. However, we did have a slight exchange with the fall this weekend.

We went to our Arboretum for a Pumpkin Festival. Who would have every thought a “garden of pumpkins” would exist? The normal sight of brilliant flowers and well-groomed grass is refreshing for the concrete stable we are used to, but now they have peppered the Arboretum lawn with hundreds of different kinds of pumpkins. I wonder where they get these rare species from…probably import them from PA or NY! Anyway, we had a nice afternoon resting and relaxing in the little bit of creation around our city.
As for bigger news, our team leaders in Tanzania had just returned from a week-long survey trip among the unreached people group we will be working with. They are located in the southeast of the country. They met the people, tried to see their language’s affinity to Swahili, and attempted to locate the borders of their territory.
They have found around 4-5 villages that would be ideal for our team to live in when we move there in June/July 2009. We are continually thrilled to see God’s providence work out details and create opportunities we could never engender on our own. Thanks for your prayers in the past weeks and we would love for you to continue to labor with us for nations bereft of the gospel.
